Kaiser Permanente is pleased to welcome Alena Wall as Community Benefit manager for our Marin-Sonoma and Napa-Solano areas. Wall begins her new role on March 12.

Wall previously served 11 years as executive director of the Center for Well-Being, a health care nonprofit committed to defeating chronic disease in the North Bay.

She will direct the local grants programs in each area and will take the lead for each hospital in the triennial Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA.)

At KP, she will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Community Benefit strategies and programs that support our organization’s social mission and nonprofit status.

“Alena brings a wealth of community health experience and understanding to our Community Benefit team,” said Judy Coffey, RN, senior vice president and area manager, Kaiser Permanente Marin-Sonoma.

“She has already done much to improve the health of individuals and families, and we’re looking forward to her continuing that work in the communities we serve,” added Cally Martin, director of Community Benefit Operations and Compliance, Kaiser Permanente Northern California.

In 2017, Wall was named Woman of the Year, California State Assembly District 2, presented by Assembly Member Jim Wood. The Santa Rosa resident holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Science from California State University, Chico, and a master’s degree in Holistic Health Education from JFK University. Prior to working at the Center for Well-Being, she was employed in the Public Health Division of the City of Berkeley’s Health and Human Services Department.

“Along with being a leader in clinical best practices, Kaiser Permanente’s approach to whole-person care and commitment to systems and policy changes sets it apart,” said the new CB manager. “I’m excited to join this Community Benefit team, and to keep working to improve the health of our communities.”
