Chamber Testifies at City Council Meeting to Encourage Approval of Junior Second Units

Chamber President and CEO, Joanne Webster testified at the City Council Meeting, Monday, January 4th encouraging council members to amend the zoning code to allow for Junior Second Units. She encouraged Mayor Phillips and Council members to pass the new zoning code without restrictions including a lot size minimum and parking requirements previosly recommended by the Planning Commission. After deliberation, the item passed 3-2 (McCullough and Gamblin dissenting) approving the code to allow for JSU in San Rafael with only the parking requirement in tact. The 5,000 sq ft lot size minimum restriction was removed.
