Learn New Integrative Practices and Self-Healing Tools at Touro University California's Integrative Medicine Symposium

On Sunday, January 6th, 2019, join Touro University California (TUC) as it hosts its inaugural Integrative Medicine Symposium which offers an educational experience for anyone interested in learning about multidisciplinary approaches in integrative practices and self-healing tools driving the future of medicine. All are welcome, from medical practitioners and students, to interested community members!
WHO:
WHAT: Representatives from TUC, UC Berkeley, the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) and Gordon Medical Associates will immerse participants in a day long study of the theory and practice of whole person health. Attendees will choose from three learning tracks, depending on their desired focus. Two tracks focus on modalities that can be incorporated into the practice of current and future healthcare professionals. The other track offers techniques for anyone wanting to feel more energized, engaged and balanced in their everyday lives or to empower themselves in their healing process. In addition to their chosen track, attendees will experience presentations featuring the microbiome with Dr. Carlisle Holland, clinical use of psychedelics with Dr. Janis Phelps, and integrative medicine for the underserved with Dr. Constance Earl. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS: For clinicians, TUC is offering six continuing medical education (CME) credits (AOA 1-A and AMA PRA) for the Integrative Care and OMM tracks.

WHY: Through a full-day immersion into the study of integrative medicine, TUC seeks to increase knowledge and equip clinicians by providing them with tools and strategies to more effectively incorporate integrative medicine into daily practice. Interested community members will learn holistic practices they can incorporate in order to lead more engaged, energized and balanced lives as well as help empower them through their healing processes.
COST: $25 to attend; $80 to attend and receive CME credit.

- OMM Track: Intro to osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) and OMT for stress (for MDs, DOs, and MD/DO students)
- Everyday Wellness Track: Integrative nutrition for the body, mind and soul; mindfulness and optimal well-being; tips for thriving in everyday life
